The Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health's Diabetes Prevention Program has received the Certificate of CDC Full Recognition from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The designation recognizes "programs that have effectively delivered a quality, evidence-based diabetes prevention program that meets all required CDC recognition standards," according to a release. Currently, the Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health is only one of three programs in Iowa to be granted this designation.

Northwood's Trustile Doors raised more than $1,000 to support Toys for Tots over the holiday season, according to a release. The amount includes more than $500 from employees that was then matched by the company.

Jessica Steele joined Forest City's Lichtsinn RV as an administrative assistant. Steele graduated from Forest City and attended Waldorf; she most recently worked at Basis Marketing. Steele lives in Forest City with her two children.

Mercy Medical Center?North Iowa now offers 3D mammography at its Forest Park Imaging location, according to a release. Officials say the new equipment will provide patients with improved cancer detection and greater comfort during the test.

Manly Specialty Care maintained a five-star rating throughout the year from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, according to a release. Nursing facilities are rated quarterly based on health inspections, staffing and quality measures.

Sheffield-based Sukup Manufacturing's new sweep wheel grain reclaimer has been honored by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers as one of the 50 outstanding innovations of 2017, according to a release. The device reduces the amount of grain left behind a bin sweep wheel by more than 80 percent. Two Sukup products won awards last year. Since 2011, the company has won 14 AE50 Awards and 22 since 1991.

Amy Fleming has joined the North Iowa Area Community College Alumni Advisory Board. Fleming graduated from NIACC and Wartburg, and is an anchor at KIMT. She is currently president of the Cerro Gordo County Free Health Care Clinic and chairperson of the North Iowa Band Festival Committee.

Forest City-based Winnebago Industries, Inc. announced the Winnebago Horizon was named the RV of the Year by RVBusiness Magazine. The award "best exemplifies a manufacturer's ability to 'push the envelope' through design and engineering," according to a release.

River City Door Company, a service and installation business for residential and commercial overhead doors and openers, recently opened. It is based in Mason City.

The summer intern program at Kossuth/Palo Alto County Economic Development Corporation received the workforce development award for small markets from the Mid-America Economic Development Council. The award recognize efforts to attract and strengthen businesses and retain youth. The small market award was for EDC's with marketing budgets less than $100,000. Executive Director Maureen Elbert received the award for the group at a Mid-America EDC forum Dec. 3-5 in Chicago.
